The Theodore collection is part of Studio Clarice, Volero’s own brand for rugs with rich materials and distinctive texture. Each rug is tufted from 100% New Zealand wool on a cotton backing. With a 40 mm pile and a total thickness of 50 mm, Theodore is a plush rug that feels full and soft underfoot. It weighs 3 kg per square metre, which shows in the dense pile. Wool naturally contains lanolin, a grease that repels dirt and moisture. A wool rug also muffles sound better than a hard floor.
Theodore comes in green, cream, beige and terracotta. Cream and beige keep a bedroom light and work well with oak, linen and white walls. Green suits plants and a botanical interior. Terracotta adds warm colour next to black steel and dark wood. Colour looks different under every light source, so you can try the rug at home with 30-day returns.
The collection is available in 120×170, 140×200, 160×230, 200×290 and 230×330 cm. For a compact seating area or beside the bed, a plush rug in 160×230 cm works well. A standard seating area suits 200×290 cm, with the front legs of the sofa on the rug. In a large living room, choose 230×330 cm.
A plush rug comes into its own where you feel the softness: in front of the sofa, beside the bed or in a reading corner. Under dining chairs and in busy walkways, a low pile rug is more practical. Vacuum twice a week with the brush retracted. This also reduces the shedding that new wool shows in the first few weeks. Blot spills straight away with a slightly damp cloth, without rubbing. Theodore is not suitable for underfloor heating.
